Slide Gate Valve

Slide Gate Valve system is fixed to the ladle and turndish bottoms to control the molten steel flow keeping pace with casting. Slide gates are largely sub-classified into LSG (Ladle Slide Gate) and TSG (Tundish Slide Gate). LSG is attached to the ladle bottom to control the molten steel flow into the turndish or ingot mold. TSG is attached to the turndish bottom to control the molten steel flow into the mold.

No Product name Description
1 L/D Top Nozzle
  • · A nozzle for continuous supply of molten steel from L/D bottom to sliding nozzle plate.
  • · Placed at the top of the upper plate, which is why it is named a top nozzle.
  • · The top nozzle can be replaced several times in accordance with L/D repair lifespan.
2 L/D Sliding Nozzle Plate
  • · Plate-shaped refractories (2 or 3 pieces) are used to control the molten steel flow into L/D~T/D.
  • · Sliding nozzle plate is fitted in an operating unit called a cassette and controls the flow by sliding and thus changing pore size areas.
  • · 2- and 3-piece types are used for continuous casting and pouring pit, respectively.
3 L/D Collector Nozzle
  • · A nozzle connecting the sliding nozzle plate’s lower plate with the shroud nozzle.
  • · Named a collector nozzle as it collects L/D’s molten steel and connects it to T/D.
  • · A collector nozzle is used once or as long as the plate lifespan.
4 T/D Porous Nozzle
  • · A nozzle continuously providing molten steel from T/D bottom to sliding nozzle plate.
  • · Developed as a porous nozzle for Ar injection to prevent any inclusion blockage.
5 T/D Sliding Nozzle Plate
  • · 3-piece plate-shaped refractories control the molten steel flow into T/D~Mold.
  • · Fitted in an operation unit called a cassette, the sliding nozzle plate controls the flow while sliding and thus changing the pore size area.
  • · Ar is injected into the upper or middle plate to prevent molten steel from clogging.
